Innovative Charging Solutions Enhance Venue Experience at Royal Farms Arena
Legends increases venue amenities, partner sponsorships and fan engagement by deploying charging tables, lockers and standing stations customized by POWER UP™
A holistic venue solution provider in the sports, music and entertainment industry, Legends is focused on creating a unique atmosphere for fans that is enhanced at every major touch point throughout their journey.
Legends is a third-party commercial rights holder for the Royal Farms Arena located in Baltimore, which is a 14,000 seat, multi-purpose venue that hosts 130-150 events per year.
Legends was looking to increase engagement and brand presence for its sponsorship clients by incorporating a multitude of new assets that would engage fans through a service partnership and ultimately add value to each sponsorship.
“The challenge was enhancing our partnerships and sponsorships by providing a unique, value-added service that would promote more fan engagement. At the time, we didn’t have any type of service inside the building that we could offer so we began looking for options and possible providers,” said David Potamianos, sponsorship sales manager, Legends Global Sales.
In June of 2015, Legends turned to POWER UP™, the industry’s premium charging technology company, to develop a solution for their sponsor, Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union (MECU).
POWER UP™ enabled Legends to connect moments that matter for MECU by implementing three standing, charging stations equipped with 32 inch light-emitting diode (LED) screens.
“We were originally drawn to their products and services for their use of state-of-the-art technology that the units employ as well as the very high level of customer service that they provide. The products are very appealing, equipped with digital ad screens, are able to be fully branded and made right here in Baltimore,” said Potamianos.
Since the initial project for MECU, POWER UP™ has proven itself as a trusted partner and has developed two charging tables and two charging lockers for other sponsors, including Kaiser Permanente and Washington Gas and Light.
To date, POWER UP™ and Legends has successfully implemented seven innovative charging solutions for sponsors that are scattered throughout the Royal Farms Arena.
POWER UP™ worked directly with Legends to create solutions that would exceed their goals and objectives for the venue and its sponsors.
“We have enjoyed a very beneficial relationship with POWER UP™ as they provide exceptionally high-quality products, flexible payment options and outstanding service along with knowledgeable and service-oriented representatives,” said Potamianos.
The charging tables and lockers allow fans to charge and recharge their phones in a safe, secure and entertaining environment, which has increase the overall fan engagement and satisfaction during events.
“The feedback from our clients has been very positive to date and has resulted in a prolonged engagement or increased “dwell time” in their respective sponsor spaces which in turn helps the arena with increasing the likelihood of greater per capita spend on concessions. Our fans love them too, as indicated by their use at our events– with thousands of fans utilizing this service to date. They are in highly accessible and high profile areas, are visually appealing and create a value-add for our sponsors,” said Potamianos.
Legends executives see growth opportunity and the potential for other applications for use in premium seating areas and plan to look into implementing POWER UP™ products in other Legends properties to enhance the fan experience.
